St. Paddy’s Day Table

I don’t know if it’s the Irish nature of my name or what, but I do love me a little Irish.

I have a little Irish in me, both in terms of heritage and temper (and really, one look at my fair skin!?), so maybe that’s it.

Or maybe I’m just a sucker for corned beef, Irish soda bread and Bailey’s.

Whatever.  St. Patrick’s Day is FUN.  (One of my very first blog posts was about St. Patrick’s Day last year, I love the Irish Blessing I included then; you can read it here.)

I love that my boys asked me if I was going to be making corned beef for the big day (funny, there was no mention of cabbage).

And since we’re all in the spirit, I threw together a St. Paddy’s Day kitchen tablescape to make it really sing (Oh Danny Boy, anyone?).

Here’s what I did:

I’m loving the basic setup of my everyday table I’ve had since Christmas, with the silverware caddy and salt & pepper on a plate.  It’s been so easy to add in a few seasonal items for the small holidays like Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day.

Placemats and napkins from Pier One; chargers from Meier; silverware from Ballard Designs; silverware caddy (originally from Southern Living Home, similar item now available at Bed, Bath and Beyond); shamrock plant from Trader Joe’s; custom-made runner and center riser; chocolate gold coins from World Market; glass hanging votive holder (aka pot o’ gold) from Nell Hill’s; rosewood clover tray from Goodwill.

Sending a little luck of the Irish your way!

I love love your black tray or table on your table. Did you make it or buy it?

I bought it at a local place called Bella Chic. She’s an amazing upcycler of old furniture! I’ve thought about taking an old table top that I have, adding feet to it and painting & distressing the whole thing as she did!

Gosh, I love this! I can’t believe the little wooden shamrock from Goodwill! Love that you found that there. Also, the real Shamrock plant! I have to find Bella Chic and check it out. I love my Irish heritage and this is right up my alley. When my dad was working, every St. Patrick’s day, he wore a green carnation on his suit. Thanks for posting this, Kerry. You always inspire me, as I love decorating too.

Great St. Pat’s tablescape. Love it all, especially the center riser with the mix of pretty and practical items. Visiting from Savvy Southern Style.
